Martin O’Sullivan (Partner)

Martin O’Sullivan established the practice in 1978 very close to where our current office is located.

It is true to say that he is known the length and breadth of Ireland among the farming community as the author of the Farmers’ Handbook, now in its 27th edition, as well as being a bi-weekly columnist with the farming Independent. He holds an honours degree in Agricultural Science (UCD), a Diploma in Financial Services (UCD) and a Diploma in Forensic Accounting (Chartered Accountants Ireland).

 

 

 

John Malone (Partner)

John Malone is an Incorporated Public Accountant & Statutory Auditor who firstly graduated with a Bachelor of Business Studies degree in 1998 from Waterford Institute of Technology. John completed a training contract with a local firm before joining the practice in 2002 and he was admitted to partnership in 2008.

In his twelve years with the firm he has established a strong background in information technology, accounting software and regulatory and financial compliance. His client portfolio includes retail convenience operators, agri-services providers and medium-sized construction enterprises.

 

 

Barry Lonergan (Tax Manager)

Having qualified with a Bachelor of Business Studies in 2007 from Waterford Institute of Technology, Barry then joined the firm and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2011. In 2012 he qualified as a Chartered Tax Consultant coming Joint 3rd place in Ireland in his final exams. Barry is a Fellow Member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants and currently holds the role of Tax Manager in the firm.

His client portfolio includes, large dairy enterprises, waste management companies and professional service companies. Barry has specialist knowledge of the education and religious sectors.

 

 

 

Diarmuid Foley (Agricultural Consultant)

B.Agr.Sc., RAC, M.A.C.A – dfoley@som.ie

Diarmuid holds an honours degree in Agricultural Science. He commenced practice as a private farm consultant in 2015. He is head of our Farm Advisory Division here at O’Sullivan Malone. His areas of speciality are dairy farm advice, farm financial planning, expert witness reporting and farm company formations.

He has a keen interest in dairy farming and is actively involved in the home dairy herd comprising 180 cows. He is a keen sportsman and is a former member of the Tipperary senior football panel. Diarmuid also is a regular contributor to the Irish Farming Independent.
